The bipartisan National Council on Election Integrity — a group of more than 40 former elected officials, former Cabinet secretaries, retired military officials, and civic leaders — today announced that it is spending $1.3 million on ads this week thanking Americans for conducting safe, secure, and transparent elections.

“We did it. Americans from both parties turned out to vote in numbers like we haven’t seen in a hundred years. And election officials counted those votes carefully, transparently, and in accordance with the law. So no matter who you voted for — if you cast a ballot or counted them — thank you for showing the world that even in times like these, America is still going strong,” the new ad states.

Said National Council on Election Integrity spokesman Michael Beckel: “Everyone should be proud that America rose to the challenge of holding free and fair elections amid a global pandemic. The greatest affirmation of our democratic processes is the record participation from our citizens this year, with more Americans voting than in any election in more than a century.”

Beckel continued: “We owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of state and local election officials who ran elections this year that were safe, secure, and transparent, as well as to the countless volunteer poll workers and election judges who stepped up to help them. These Americans are this year’s unsung heroes.”

The National Council on Election Integrity’s new TV ads will air in both English and Spanish. They will be airing nationwide on Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC, and on Univision and Telemundo in the Washington, DC, media market.

Including this new buy, the National Council on Election Integrity has spent more than $7.75 million since the beginning of October on TV and digital ads nationally and in key battleground states highlighting the nation’s ability to hold successful elections, elections in which we follow the law and count every vote to determine the winners.

The National Council on Election Integrity — a bipartisan group of more than 40 government, political, and civic leaders who are devoted to defending the legitimacy of our elections — is a project of Issue One. The National Council on Election Integrity is sponsoring the Count Every Vote campaign to ensure that every American’s vote is counted.
