William Gray joined Issue One in 2016 as the organization’s deputy communications director.

Before joining the organization, William was the media relations specialist for the Center for Public Integrity, the second-oldest nonprofit, nonpartisan investigative news organization in the United States. In the role, he helped broker partnerships with numerous outlets including USA Today, VICE, Washington Post, NBC News and NPR, and he worked to increase the visibility and brand of the organization overall. Prior to that, he was a producer for C-SPAN, bringing live coverage of politics and public affairs programming, including the 2012 U.S. presidential race, to viewers around the world.

William received his master of liberal arts in journalism from the Harvard University Extension School in Cambridge, Massachusetts and his bachelor of arts in English from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky.
