Ethan Rome joined Issue One in August 2018 as the Chief of Communications, Marketing and Strategic Initiatives. For more than 30 years, Rome has been a leader and expert strategist  working on legislative, political and issue campaigns at the state and federal level. Rome was previously a campaign consultant and the executive director of Health Care for America Now (HCAN), the national grassroots coalition that ran a $60 million five-year campaign to overhaul America’s health care system. Prior to HCAN, Rome directed national communications for one of the largest labor organizations in America.

Earlier in his career, Rome served as policy and communications director to the Connecticut Speaker of the House, built one of the first comprehensive political operations for a state legislative caucus in the country, and co-directed a coalition to reform state tax policies.
